It`s not all in the mind, but a positive mindset helps as every elite athlete knows. With the courts too frozen to play on, Mr Clark and Miss Cox encouraged the girls to think about how they could improve their playing with some tried and tested sports psychology techniques. 🏅🏆⚽

On this, the first day of the school holidays, we pause to remember those for whom this might not be the most magical time of year: families living with illness or in poverty, or threatened by armed conflict. The displaced and dispossessed, those without a home, women and children at risk of domestic violence, the bereaved, facing the first celebration without a special loved one, the elderly living alone, those struggling with mental health issues. We also remember those whose work does not stop for the holidays: the NHS, the police, the armed forces and the volunteers who support them. Our pupils left school yesterday keen to rise to the challenge of `24 Acts of Service` over the holidays. Let`s follow their lead; spare a thought, and, if you can, spare some change for @royalfreecharity @nspcc_official @crisis_uk @helpforheroes @samaritanscharity @womens_aid @macmilliancancer @mindcharity

Year 1 have been learning about cave paintings. We created our own including elements of the paintings we looked at and discussed in class.
