Science is empowering and challenging; an integral part of our STEAM programme (science, technology, engineering, art, and maths), equipping girls with the skills to navigate a progressively technology-driven world and address the environmental and sustainability issues that face us all.
Lessons reflect this by weaving STEAM themes into all areas of the curriculum. From geography and history to art and digi-tech, opportunities to work scientifically are integrated into every subject. Girls are encouraged to experiment and to take responsible risks as a fundamental part of unearthing new findings and sparking new questions and ideas.
We strive to build and enhance the science capital of every child in our school. Our parent community are invited to share their STEAM skills in a variety of ways, and visits from STEAM ambassadors, workshops run by outside agencies and trips to the Science Museum and Space Centre all ensure that our pupils leave with a comprehensive STEAM toolkit that they can call upon at any time in the future.
Pupils were consulted and worked alongside our architect on creating the school site masterplan whilst learning about sustainable building development. You can watch the film here.
