The study of history of art informs our pupils’ own creative work by putting it into a broader context.
Girls in Years 5 and 6 develop a deeper understanding of the art and history they are studying, and learn more about the artistic movements, techniques, and artists that they enjoy. History of art encourages critical thinking and philosophical questioning, develops verbal reasoning skills, and encourages every girl to have the confidence to share her opinion.
Girls explore art and artists from around the world, across different cultures and throughout time, and learn to make links between our past, present and future, from Da Vinci to Basquiat.
