Drama

Drama provides a space for pupils to try new things, to fail safely, and crucially, to play. Fun is central to drama, and lessons involve games that foster imagination and whimsy.

Girls enjoy drama lessons from Reception, and from Year 4, they are taught by a drama specialist. Emphasis is placed on collaborative working and performance skills so that pupils can both create ensembles and speak confidently in public as individuals. Pupils are encouraged to respect one another and to take pride in their performances.

Each year group has their own annual production – from Shakespeare to cabaret and full-scale musicals – which gives all our pupils the chance to put their drama skills into practice. Every performance across the school is designed to ensure that each child can shine.
